re: the non-philosopher
Philosophy may seem like it is weak, but hopefully it can turn into its old totalitarian form which includes the revelation of the real force of all things and puts it into the hands of some subjective reveler. That way it will be a little bit interesting instead of boring and pointless. Laurelle was right to make his non-philosophy practice into something that isn’t terrible, boring, and disconnected from living.
The positing of a transcendental or speculative object is madness, especially in the light of such solid things like apples, which are delicious and a whole-one. Why do you need to see the substance in things, the way things are connected, and to insist that there is some hidden reality within reality that is more real than what group consensus determines is real, a basic notion or a solid object?
The irreducible body which evades philosophy and is simultaneously the object of philosophy will nonetheless determine the necessity of philosophy within its own Real evasion of philosophy. The essential body, the thing that escapes philosophy and ideas until it no longer functions.
My experience is exactly the natural thing which becomes submitted to both the world and my philosophizing of it. To see the guiding light is to make one’s self a Cassandra, someone who sees some truth that can predict futures and movements, and to make one’s self not-believed, because this reality insofar as it is a reality worth digging for has some strange character which is beyond our common thinking. The digging itself is of the body, the knowledge itself is both exactly for this deep body and subject to question.
The creator of philosophy appears as this mad thing who has dug for something which appears relevant to only him, which may link to the world in some way and baffle others who wish to slide along the smooth consensus of social order. Even these social orders are philosophical, and if you can not bear to think, you must develop some sort of practice.
In the end, the body is for philosophy, non-philosophy, and non-non-philosophy, so long as it can kill something or make some kind of ice sculpture that reflects nicely.
